16 high-level papers from GEMLab laboratory of Macao Polytechnic University selected for MICCAI 2025

From September 23rd to 27th, 2025, MICCAI 2025, internationally recognized as the most influential academic conference in the field of medical image analysis, will be held in Daegu, South Korea. The GEMLab laboratory of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at the Macao Polytechnic University has successfully selected 16 papers, fully demonstrating the team's cutting-edge research capabilities and outstanding research strength in the field of medical artificial intelligence.

The MICCAI Conference, also known as the International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention, is a comprehensive international top-level academic conference in the fields of medical image computing and computer-aided intervention. The acceptance rate of papers at this conference is 29%, with extremely fierce competition and strong international influence and authority in the industry.

At the same time, GEMLab, in collaboration with top research and medical institutions such as the Netherlands Cancer Institute, jointly initiated and organized the MICCAI 2025 workshop - Deep Breast 2025: 2nd Deep Breast Workshop on AI and Imaging for Diagnosis and Treatment Challenges in Breast Care. During the workshop, three international challenges were held simultaneously: ODELIA, MAMA-MIA and UUSIC, covering tasks such as breast MRI classification, tumor segmentation and multi organ analysis, focusing on the key challenges and cutting-edge applications of artificial intelligence in breast cancer and multi organ imaging diagnosis.

This workshop and challenge have established a high-level communication platform for professionals in the fields of medical imaging and artificial intelligence worldwide, attracting numerous international research teams to actively participate and jointly promote the in-depth application and interdisciplinary integration of AI technology in the medical and health field, which has important academic significance and clinical value.
